Community Hub

Wells Community Support Hub

The Coastal Community Hub is part of a wider Coastal Community network of support services designed to help local people access practical help, connection, and wellbeing support in a friendly and welcoming way.

It began as a collaborative response during the COVID-19 pandemic, when local organisations came together to support people through a time of uncertainty. Since then, it has grown into a trusted and vital part of community life, now sitting at the heart of how we support people across our coastal communities.

Today, the Hub is much more than a practical support service. It plays an important role in helping to reduce isolation, build connections, and support wellbeing.

For many older and housebound residents, the Hub offers not only practical help, but also regular human contact through friendly phone calls, wellbeing check-ins, and doorstep visits from volunteers. These simple but meaningful connections help people feel more supported, connected, and part of their community.

Our volunteers also help us to gently notice changes in wellbeing or circumstances, allowing us to connect people with the right support when needed.
